Growth Through Discomfort: Cambridge Experience

My postgraduate experience at Cambridge was similar to Ryan’s. There were only exams at the end of the course, and professors provided minimal help. While our teaching assistant was helpful, he had limited time and attention to divide among all of us.

Most of my peers came from mathematics or engineering backgrounds, so I had to get myself up to speed on the maths in addition to learning the economics course material. It was one of the most stressful periods of my academic life, but it made my subsequent studies much easier.

When I moved to LSE, there were suddenly far more resources. I don’t remember feeling particularly stressed yet still graduated with distinction. The mental discomfort and stress I experienced at Cambridge provided a catalyst for growth and prepared me for subsequent challenges.
