Fast Baroque music seems to be one of my weaknesses. I tend to tense up and play unevenly, and I find it difficult to strike a good balance between getting into the flow and playing freely while still minimizing mistakes.

First recording attempt:

Coo-coo, coo-coo, ooh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh…What goes on in my mind as I start making mistakes.

A version with less mistakes after another week of practice and better sleep, but perhaps also less expressive as I try to avoid mistakes:

After my first piano and singing performance with my boys, I’m ready to attempt a solo. I first encountered this song in one of my favorite films in recent years, and something about it stayed with me. I’m glad to make it part of my piano journey.

Perfect Day by Lou Reed:

Just a perfect day
Drink Sangria in the park
And then later
When it gets dark, we go home

Just a perfect day
Feed animals in the zoo
Then later
A movie, too, and then home

Oh, it’s such a perfect day
I’m glad I spend it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on

Just a perfect day
Problems all left alone
Weekenders on our own
It’s such fun

Just a perfect day
You made me forget myself
I thought I was
Someone else, someone good

Oh, it’s such a perfect day
I’m glad I spent it with you
Oh, such a perfect day
You just keep me hanging on
You just keep me hanging on

You’re going to reap just what you sow
You’re going to reap just what you sow
You’re going to reap just what you sow
You’re going to reap just what you sow

Dark dreadful reality;

Acceptance and serenity;

But things are never the same

Song by Stefanie Sun

Lyrics:

English translation:

I hear the winter leaving.

I wake up in some year, some month.

I think, I wait, I look forward to,

But that’s not how the future is arranged.

Cloudy sky, an evening, outside the car window.

There is a person waiting in the future.

To the left, to the right, to the front I look.

How many corners must love turns before it arrives?

Who will I meet, what are we going to say?

The person I’m waiting for, how far away is he in the future?

I hear the wind blowing from the subway and the crowd.

I’m standing in line, holding a number plate for love.

I keep flying and flew across a sea of time.

We both had been injured in love.

I’m watching the road, the entrance to the dream is a bit narrow.

Meeting you is the most beautiful accident.

One day, my riddle will unravel.

I’ve wanted to play piano and sing at the same time. This year I finally gave it a shot with one of my favourite Frank Sinatra songs that has a relatively simple accompaniment. I also teamed up with my boys to make it less daunting. I think it’s a good start, and I hope to tackle a solo performance in the future.

My Way Lyrics:

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain
I’ve lived a life that’s full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all, and I stood tall
And did it my way

I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried
I’ve had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh, no, oh, no, not me
I did it my way

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way
Yes, it was my way

“Look at me. See me as more than a friend. Whether it’s tomorrow, next week, or next month, I’ll always be waiting” — Hina’s thought

Song with lyrics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y5Hx0y0S9A

Taiki: I can’t be with you

Hina: No. I told you I didn’t need an answer right now. You don’t need to rush it. It’s not like you’re gonna start dating Chinatsu Senpai, right?

Taiki: No, but…

Hina: Then you don’t need to give me your answer yet. I won’t complain, no matter how long it takes. if you reject me now, you might regret it later when you realise you’re in love with me.

Taiki: Maybe so, but I don’t think this dynamic we have now is a good one. You say it’s okay for me to take my shot with Chinatus Senpai. But with the way things are now, I can’t pursue my feelings honestly. Even though I like Chinatus Senpai, I feel ashamed of myself for still being drawn to you. And I think my indecisiveness is only hurting you. So let me just make things clear. We should both just–

Hina: I said it’s fine! I know you liked someone else when I told you how I felt. Even if you like her, I still love you!

Taiki: That’s not a natural way to be.

Hina. It’s natural! It’ll all make sense once I can get you to look at me!

Taiki: I told you I can’t reciprocate your feelings.

Hina: Why not? You have way more memories with me. Is it because we don’t live together? Then we could start now. I don’t know how Chinatus Senpai feels about you, but I —

Taiki: Even so. It won’t change who I like.
